Archeology and Culture in CR PDF Print E-mail
The archeology and cultural experiential program is an exhilarating experience for participants interested in anthropology, archeology and culture. Through a combination of lectures and field visits participants will learn about the history, government indigenous period of Costa Rica.

Contact and interviews with different institutes and non governmental organizations will also support learning about Costa Rican society, myths, beliefs and fears.

Field visits at archeological and national monument sites will give participants awareness about rural sociology, geology and topographic characteristics of Costa Rica.

Participants will learn about Costa Rica’s physical resources, processes of land, ocean and atmosphere in terms of man-environment relationship.
The program includes visits to meteorological, geological and oceanographic interest sites including visits to some of our 8 active volcanoes.

The program  is a great opportunity for earth science lovers to learn about Costa Rican culture and natural wonders.


Typical Day in the Program:
  • 08:00 a.m - 12:00 p.m    Field Trip (all morning) conversations with women entrepreneurs
  • 12:00 p.m - 2:00 p.m    Lunch
  • 02:00 p.m - 6:00 p.m    Field Trip discussion (understanding facts, discussion of obtained results, conclusion)

Important Facts:

  • Program description: Short-term (10-15 day) program consisting of both class time as well as field studies.
  • Dates: Can be arranged according to needs and desires however March through June have the best climatic conditions
  • Payment: 50% prior to student’s arrival and the remainder upon arrival includes: transportation, entrances to all parks and other trips, airport pick-up, and lodging.
  • Cancellation Policy: If 30 days prior to starting date the student will receive a full refund minus administration fees.
